The group visits the villages to share some love!
Ingrid, Cheryl, Rick & Kathy visited many villages during their time in Uganda. Below you will see pictures that show how the group reached out to many families giving them treats, dresses & shorts. They are fulfilling the words of Matthew “for I was naked and you clothed me, I was hungry and you fed me..” You can see how happy the children are to be visited in their village.
This experience is life changing for any of us that have made this journey. Each of us at the beginning became aware of the living conditions of so many vulnerable children in Uganda. In our hearts we knew that there was something we could each do to help. From that emotional draw in our hearts, SACU is what it is today.
Have you thought of how you could help these children too? From sponsorship to donating to our Christmas wish list, these children & families need your help to survive. The children who are chosen to come to SACU will be educated and go on to build a bright future and in turn take care of their families. Let’s help our children here understand that there are so many people in need and that they can help too.
Is this the season to reach out and bring some African sunshine into your family? We have 15 children waiting for sponsors and there will be a new group of 10 coming into our Baby class in Feb 2020!
A glimpse of the village & SACU!
The first stop of the day is the village market which spreads along the highway and beyond. It is a robust environment filled with the sights and sounds of Uganda. From boda bodas (motorcycles) twisting in and out of traffic, to trucks unloading crates of food and housewares to the bustling crowds of people scurrying from shop to shop, to children playing with sticks & water bottles to pass the time. Without school for so many children, they are left to find things to amuse themselves with their friends while the parents try to sell their goods so that they may buy food for the day. SACU has lifted the most vulnerable children out of this “life” and into a loving & caring school where they will have a chance at a bright future. We have faith that the SACU students will become respected members of society where they will have a job that is not selling bananas on the streets or working in the sugar cane fields. They are safe with us and they look up to their teachers who provide excellent role models, showing how hard work and never letting go of their dreams, can bring to each of them a life without crushing poverty. Our dream is that by raising up the children they will raise up their village, and the country will be a better place.
Sponsors, know that you are changing stories thus changing lives!
Thank you
